Google buys garage where it was started

Google has reportedly bought the home which houses the garage they rented when it was initially started. Apparently homes in that area are worth around $1 to $1.3 million dollars, the price paid was not disclosed but I suspect it may have been considerably more than the average price. camp.com domain sells for US$150,000

In this weeks domain sales chart at DnJournal, camp.com sold for US$150,000 and funnyads.com sold for US$100,000.

Google in talks to buy youtube.com

There are a lot of big players interested in acquiring youtube.com but latest rumours are that Google is in current negotiations for around US$1.6 billion dollars. That is an amazing sum of money for a site which is around 18 months old. Whilst there are no doubts that youtube generates considerable traffic, one has to wonder if its level of popularity would remain as high, if measures were implemented to stop copyrighted material, something which the intended buyer would have to do at some stage.
