Google Swimming Pools

I have always had a fascination with swimming pools from a young age, living close to the city and in a small house, never had room for a large swimming pool, though I reckon there would be enough space for one of these.

Google Christmas Gift

Google sometimes send out Christmas gifts to adsense/adwords customers, all dependant on how much revenue they generate/spend. This year, looks like some lucky google adsense/adwords clients could be receiving a way cool Google digital photo frame. Gee I wish google or any company would send me some free stuff. I love receiving free stuff in the mail :P

Google Share Price goes over US$500

According to the stock summary at Yahoo finance, the last traded price of google shares at the time of this post was US$509.65 per share, a long way from its initial float price of US$85 per share back in August 2004.

How much is webzine.com worth?

An interesting online automated tool which values domains, can be found here. It takes into account factors beyond the actual domain name, to include such things as link popularity etc, hence it is more of an indicator of the website value as opposed to domain only value. According to the site, webzine.com is worth US$22,940.00

Text-link-ads.com acquired by Mediawhiz

According to the mediawhiz website, text-link-ads.com has been acquired by Mediawhiz. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, though I am very curious as to what they were. Although I have never personally bought links via text-link-ads.com I have always been a bit surprised at their chose of domain, given the fact that they have spent quite a considerable amount of money on advertising, and yet chose to use a three word domain with two hyphens. I personally think they should change their domain and marketing over to the non-hyphenated textlinkads.com domain.

Another Internet Bubble?

I have been pondering this question of late. After the last big internet bust, I have slowly witnessed the internet grow to what now looks like some kind of bubble like state. It is when you see companies that were reportedly not making a profit, like youtube.com sell for such a staggering amount of money that makes you think the bubble days are back. Also evident in the high prices that some domains have fetched lately.

Google in talks to buy youtube.com

There are a lot of big players interested in acquiring youtube.com but latest rumours are that Google is in current negotiations for around US$1.6 billion dollars. That is an amazing sum of money for a site which is around 18 months old. Whilst there are no doubts that youtube generates considerable traffic, one has to wonder if its level of popularity would remain as high, if measures were implemented to stop copyrighted material, something which the intended buyer would have to do at some stage. More details can be found here.
